The Sapphire Valley Ski Area & Frozen Falls Tube Park is an integral part of a 5,700-acre, four-season resort nestled in the pristine Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. The average elevation is 3,400 feet.
What They Say About Themselves
The ski resort consists of a 1600 foot main run with a vertical drop of 200 feet that is serviced by a modern quad-lift. The beginner slope is 350 foot in length with modest vertical drop of 50 feet that has a ‘moving carpet’ lift to deliver the guests to the top. This is an excellent opportunity for beginners and children to get introduced to the sport or the skier to get their ‘snow legs’ back under them. The tube park is a 350 foot ride with a vertical drop of 60 feet and a surface lift that also transports patrons to the top. Sapphire Valley Ski is a snowboarder friendly environment with a few terrain park elements in place to compliment the snowboard experience. Individual instruction and group lessons are available for both skiers and snowboarders.
Four Seasons Grill is a restaurant located within the rental lodge and offers good food and a place to sit down and relax. Also offered within the rental lodge is a small clothing and accessory shop that includes snow bib and jacket rentals.
Jackson County’s Sapphire Valley Ski Area is but one small component of the popular resort, offering two short slopes for its property owners, resort guests, and day skiers. It’s a comfortable environment for introducing new skiers to the sport, and a patient ski school welcomes anyone from young children to senior first-timers.
Visitors will find that this resort places a premium on the surrounding amenities, such as a huge recreation center that offers an indoor pool, hot tubs, saunas, fitness center, mini golf, an arcade and more.
